Athletics
St. Jude is happily a part of the Inter-City Catholic League (ICCL) and provides athletes in grades 5-8 access to nine sports through all three seasons. St. Jude also will also partner with a student to find a local organization if a sport is not sponsored by the ICCL.
Band
Students new to Band meet with Mrs. Voll in August to “try on” different instruments. Students meet weekly before school and during school for lessons. Band students perform a fall and spring concert each year.
Choir
Under the direction of our parish’s Director of Music, Tom Farwell, students in Choir in grades 3-8 practice once a week during their lunch and recess time. Each week they participate in our all school Mass leading the congregation in songs. They also participate in special parish Masses throughout the liturgical year.
Forensics
Forensics is a competitive speech team for grades 5-8. Forensics students choose from a variety of speech and drama events to prepare and take to competitions at area schools.
Parish Participation
Students can help the parish both in and out of school. Altar Serving can be done at school mass, regular mass, or funerals. Students can also join the Children’s Choir, where they can help lead in worship via music.
Girls on the Run
Girls on the Run is a program for 3rd and 4th grade which inspires girls of all abilities in grades to recognize their individual strengths while building a sense of connection in a team setting. Volunteer coaches facilitate lessons that blend physical activity with life skill development to enable girls to adapt to whatever comes their way.
Supersubs
A program for 3rd and 4th graders that takes place every year that aims to increase student involvement in our athletics programs. We currently offer: girls basketball, boys basketball, and volleyball.
Musical
All students in grades 5-8 participate in our spring school musical. Students participate either in the cast, crew, set design, costume design, marketing or ushers. Students have performed hits such as Shrek The Musical, Mary Poppins, The Lion King and The Wizard of Oz.
